Karnataka rains. More than fifty monkeys groups were rescued or protected from drowning at Davanagere district in Karnataka state by monkey catcher.
Fire and Emergency personnel in Karnataka, together with the forest department of Karnataka, used a rope ladder for a daring rescue operation. 50 monkeys were saved from drowning in Karnataka state.
The monsoon rainfalls have caused chaos not only for people in the 12 Karnataka district but also for animals. Near Rajanahalli in Harihar, district of Davangere, 50 monkeys became stuck on trees by the river. All monkeys that were stuck by the Karnataka floods were saved by the fire and forest department of the state with dedication and skill.
The monkey incident was reported to the fire department on August 6. From then on, Fire and Emergency personnel and forest department officials tried many rescue methods. They used their rescue boats but they were stop by the monkeys and remained stuck to the branches. The last option was to attach the rope ladder, which snaked its way towards the river bank. The monkeys finally decided to use the ladder to get to safety on August 9.
According to a rescue official, they saw this as a challenge. Monkey catcher first task was providing food for the animals using rescue boats that helped them reach the trees. However, rising water levels made them concerned for the safety of the monkeys. Because the monkeys feared that the ladder could sink in the water, they had to fix it.
This problem was solved by the officials who tied it to stones. They also had to disperse the curious villagers who were keeping the monkeys away from their territory.
Karnataka has seen torrential rainfalls since the beginning. Floods and landslides have decimated this region. Many division of Malnad (coastal and interior Karnataka) have been ravaged by the rains that have impacted lives and property.
