Senior SDMC officials stated that while they have advertised for monkey catchers in the past, it has not shown any interest in the role. The three municipal corporations had eight monkey catchers in total for 2014. A top official of the corporation said that even though we had fixed the salary of the monkey catcher at $15,000, only 4-5 people have applied to date.
